What an amazing 2023-24 financial year it’s been for Sonshine, as we continue to grow our media ministry and engage with our community locally, and across the globe. We wanted to share with you some of the highlights of the past 12 months, which are only thanks to you, our Sonshine family, who donate sacrificially throughout the year to support the work we do.
How we’ve made an impact
We’ve been pleased to lead or actively participate in the following initiatives during the past financial year. These have made a difference to thousands of people here in Perth and around the world!
Heart for the Homeless – Across two appeals, in July 2023, and May 2024, Heart for the Homeless saw Sonshine listeners donate more than 21,500 items to provide practical help and restore dignity for those experiencing homelessness in our community.
Take Away Hunger Day – Sonshine listeners provided a month of hot, nutritious food for 8,473 children living in poverty in Uganda through Feed The Hungry.
Watering Day – Through our partnership with Water for Africa this year, Sonshine listeners provided safe drinking water for life for more than 30,000 people in Tanzania.
Concerts – we brought three amazing international Christian artists to Perth, with Jeremy Camp and We Are Messengers performing at Riverview Church, and For King + Country performing at RAC Arena.
Devotionals – 674 people receive our daily Lifewords devotional straight to their inbox
Prayer – Sonshine staff and volunteers have personally responded to and prayed for around 100 people who requested prayer
Sonshine App – More than 2000 people across the world have tuned into Sonshine and Sonshine Extra, listened to our podcasts and watched our YouTube content through the Sonshine App.
Countless listeners were impacted by weekly guests giving advice on parenting, relationships, pets, legal, gardening and a range of other issues.
We’ve also been able to reach 317,000 listeners and more than 240,000 website and social media viewers each month with the hope of Jesus. All these outcomes are the very real fruit of your continued partnership, and we’re privileged to be able to minister alongside you in this important work.
