When multi-Grammy award winning Aussie duo For King + Country said they were coming Perth to play their very first show at home in Australia for five years we knew it was going to be good! When they said they were bringing their full stadium show for the first time ever we knew it would be amazing. But their show on Monday 20th May at RAC Arena could only be described as spectacular.
Joel & Luke Smallbone, along with their superbly talented band, played a range of songs from their classics to new originals and covers from their Unsung Hero movie soundtrack, and even brought a taste of Christmas with their incredible rendition of Little Drummer Boy to close out the show. Moving from the main stage to a smaller stage in the middle of the Arena throughout the night, they even weaved their way through the crowd a number of times, making it a concert to remember for everyone who attended.
For King + Country have a moving testimony to share, coming from a family of 7 children who moved from Australia to the United States with their parents to start over when their father’s concert promotion business fell apart. The family truly know what it is to struggle, but also what it means to see God provide as only He can, and Joel & Luke now travel the world sharing their story of God’s goodness, and the living hope that is found only in Him.
Sonshine was pleased to play our part in bringing For King + Country to Australia, in partnership with CMAA, and looks forward to continuing to see many more talented and God-inspired Christian musicians and bands perform in our city over the coming months!
