Irish Christian rockers We Are Messengers have built their career over the past decade, on the road touring relentlessly around the USA, Europe and beyond. This week they finally brought that live show to Perth for the first time, with their Where The Joy Is World Tour taking the stage at Riverview Church on Monday night! Led by front man Darren Mulligan, who writes rock n’ roll anthems and heartfelt songs about the messiness and brokenness of life, the band had the crowd dancing, laughing and crying throughout the night.

Pre-Concert Q & A

Before the show concert goers who purchased platinum tickets had the chance to experience a special Q&A session with Darren, where he answered their questions about the band, his life and music, while also sharing encouraging words and praying for those in the crowd who’d spoken of their own life’s struggles. It was a very moving experience for those who were there.

Nathan Tasker

Once it was time for the concert to get underway, Aussie singer Nathan Tasker got the crowd going with a fantastic supporting set, before sharing about his experience with Compassion Australia, a sponsor of the tour.

The Main Event!

It was then time for We Are Messengers to take the stage and the band immediately got the crowd on their feet, dancing like it was Friday night, rather than Monday!

It was a lot of fun, but moving and emotional all at the same time. In between the songs Darren shared about the goodness of God amidst life’s trials, and stopped at one point to give a personal word of encouragement to a young mum with her two kids in the front row. God really was on the move throughout what was a truly special evening.

Thank you to all those who made the night possible – the volunteers who gave their time to set-up and run the night, the team at Riverview Church, We Are Messengers’ band and crew, and the team from CMAA who made it all happen.

Darren and the band loved their time in Perth and have promised to return, so if you didn’t make it this time, make sure you head along when they return! They are incredible performers and truly inspirational people.
