What can we say but thank you! We had an incredible Radiothon week recently, with the Sonshine family coming through in a big way to help us reach our target for November. Radiothon is always such an encouraging and inspiring time for us as we raise vital funds to continue engaging the people of WA with the positive message of hope in Jesus.
We were visited throughout the week by Perthonalities, including TV’s Rick Ardon, Monica Kos, Beau Pearson, Michael Thomson and Lee Steele, along with the Premier of WA Roger Cook, and our Governor Chris Dawson and his wife. We also hosted Christians in politics, Nick Goiran and Maryka Groenewald.
Together we talked about the importance of building a Wholeheartedly Connected WA community, and the way Sonshine continues to make an impact in reaching people where they are at, and when they need it most.
We were again overwhelmed by the “Hope Stories” we heard from those who shared with us the profound impact Sonshine has had in their lives. It’s people like Ria for whom we do what do every day!
“For over a decade, Sonshine has been my faithful companion, but it wasn’t until my darkest season that I truly experienced its profound impact on my life. These past two years, I’ve been walking through the valley of a family breakdown. I’ve felt lost, running in circles with nowhere to go. Some mornings, I struggle to even get out of bed. One day as I was driving, tears blurring my vision, Jeremy Camp’s ‘Getting Started’ began playing on Sonshine. As the lyrics washed over me ‘To anyone who ever lost your way, to everyone who ever felt ashamed’ God’s presence filled my car with such intensity that I could barely breathe. It was as if He had written this song just for me, in this exact moment of my brokenness. Sonshine, you’re so much more than a radio station. You’re God’s messenger of hope to the Perth community, a lifeline for those of us navigating through life’s storms.”
Thank you for giving so generously, and making stories like Ria’s possible.
