Bec & Asa‘s Pawfect Match is back this year, with Dakota Power, the digital marketing coordinator of the Dog’s Refuge Home in Shenton Park. Today’s eligible bachelor is a big bundle of love, Marco, affectionately nicknamed “Meatball” by the team. He’s sure to steal your heart with his goofy grin, smushy face and world‑class cuddle skills.
Get to know Marco (aka Meatball)
Marco is a six‑year‑old American Bulldog. He’s happiest with a nice, relaxed walk followed by serious snuggle time on the couch. At around 39 kilos of pure love, Marco firmly believes he’s a lap dog and will do his best to prove it every chance he gets.
His personality is all about sweetness and affection. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be close to his people, soaking up pats, leaning into you for cuddles and quietly keeping you company around the house.
His love language
Marco’s primary love language is cuddles, with snacks coming in at a close second. If your ideal evening involves a comfy couch, a good show and a big gentle head resting on your lap, he’s your guy. He’s not over-the-top energetic, but he still enjoys getting out for walks and a bit of fresh air before winding down by your side.
Who he’s looking for?
Marco isn’t picky – his dream is simply to find someone who will love him. He’s friendly with everyone he meets and enjoys making doggy friends, behaving politely around other pups. He’d be very happy to share his life with another calm, compatible dog, but would also be perfectly content soaking up all the attention as the only dog in your home.
He’s gentle with kids and would do best in a family with children around 10 and up, who can respect his size and space while still giving him all the affection he deserves.
