“We should live like that while we are waiting for the coming of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is our great hope, and He will come with glory. He gave Himself for us. He died to free us from all evil. He died to make us pure—people who belong only to Him and who always want to do good.” — Titus 2:13,14
Listen: Pure HopeMany of us, at some point in life, struggle with a sense of hopelessness. Whether it’s a fleeting moment or an ongoing battle, it can feel like there’s no way out. But here’s the truth: hope in Jesus is real, and it changes everything.
You might not be feeling this right now, but if you’ve ever had one of those moments when the weight of life just feels too much, you know what I mean. Even when we have everything we could possibly need, there can still be a deep, crippling sense of hopelessness. I’ve experienced it myself, and let me tell you, it almost drove me to the edge.
So, where does hope for the future come from? How do we move from a place of despair to one of true, lasting hope?
The answer lies in how we choose to live. Even when the world seems bleak, the way we choose to respond to life’s challenges has a direct impact on how we feel about the future. It’s easy to fall into negative patterns of behaviour, but each day offers us a choice: we can choose good over evil, hope over despair.
“We should live like that while we are waiting for the coming of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is our great hope…” — Titus 2:13,14. Jesus is our great hope—not just in the future, but today. His sacrifice on the cross frees us from evil and purifies us, helping us live the life we were always meant to live.
I know this because I’ve lived it. When I was at my lowest, it was hope in Jesus that reached down and pulled me out. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but it was the start of a journey—one where I chose to put my faith in His promises. And that journey, choosing good over evil, continues today.
Friend, rest your hope on Jesus. He died to set you free from all evil and to lead you into a life that is pure—one where you will always want to do good. No matter where you are today, He can transform your outlook on life.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
