Hebrews 12:14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. (ESV)
Can I ask you today just to stop and think … what’s the highest priority in your life? Because your priorities end up dictating the course of your life.
If we don’t think about our priorities regularly, we slip into a kind of default mode, just doing the things we do. And it’s amazing how quickly life slips by.
My biggest priority is to honour God. I think and pray about that every morning. It blows me away that Jesus died to pay for my sins. So I love Him, I want to honour Him, I want to live my life for Him. That’s me. What’s at the top of your list?
Fortunately, as we’ve seen the last couple of days, we don’t have to try to do that in our own strength. Believe in Jesus and He sends His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to empower you to clean up your act; as the theologians would say, to “sanctify” you, to make you holy.
But our role in that partnership is to make honouring God and “holiness” our number one priority. That’s the difference between a believer and a disciple; between someone who gives intellectual assent to the fact that Jesus died for them, and someone who lives their whole life for Him.

In other words, make holiness a priority in your life; make honouring God the priority in your life; make living, moving and even breathing for Him your number one priority.
Holiness – your holiness – is a partnership. You don’t have to go it alone, but you do have a major part to play.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
