From Monday 2nd February, Sonshine’s much-loved announcers will officially be back on air for the year – and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome listeners into another season of hope, encouragement and great radio.

Our familiar voices will once again be keeping Perth company across the day, bringing fun, faith and connection to every moment.

Back on Air: Your Regular Sonshine Line-Up

Listeners can look forward to hearing:

  • Leah & Dan returning to kick-start your mornings on Brekky
  • Doug continuing his much-loved role on Mornings
  • Bec & Asa bringing energy, fun and great music on Drive

Each of our teams brings something special to Sonshine, and they’re excited to share 2026 with you!

A New (But Not New) Voice in the Afternoon Slot

There’s also an exciting change coming to the 12–3pm Afternoon Show in the next few weeks.

Lockie, much-loved Sonshine presenter who has faithfully served on weekends and as a regular fill-in for many years, will be stepping into the weekday afternoon slot soon. Lockie is well known to listeners for his warmth, encouragement and heart for people, and we’re thrilled to have him take on this role.

Tim Long’s New Focus

As part of this change, Tim Long has decided to step away from hosting the weekday Afternoon Show to focus more fully on his important role within Sonshine’s Relationships Team.

This shift will allow Tim to invest more time behind the scenes, strengthening relationships with supporters and helping foster deeper, more meaningful connections throughout the Sonshine community.

While Tim is stepping back from weekday afternoons, you will still hear his familiar voice on air for Saturday mornings, so he will continuing to bring encouragement and insight to the Sonshine family.

Preparing for the Year Ahead

This week, Sonshine’s on-air and digital content teams have been busy preparing for the year ahead. Our Mission Director, Morro, spent time encouraging and inspiring the teams, casting vision for 2026 as we continue our mission of connecting the Perth community to hope, encouragement and the love of Jesus, at a time when our world needs it more than ever.

Our on-air team is entering 2026 inspired, energised and excited – ready to encourage and entertain you. They’re also looking forward to getting out into the community and connecting face-to-face throughout the year.

We can’t wait to share another year with you on Sonshine!
