Vivek understands the power of saying “yes” to God. But it took him time to get there. His journey to priesthood has been full of questions, trust, and surprising joy.

A Childhood Dream Resurfaces

Vivek first felt drawn to the priesthood when he was just eight years old. He was at a retreat with his family. Something stirred in his heart.

“God said, ‘Vivek, I want you to become a priest,’” he recalls. “I said, ‘Okay God, if that’s what you want, then I’ll do it.’”

That moment stayed with him. But life went on.

The Nudge in the Silence

Years later, in 2018, Vivek faced a challenging time. He felt isolated and unsure about the future. In that quiet space, God spoke again.

“I heard God say, ‘I’m calling you to be a priest,’” Vivek says. “That voice wasn’t harsh. It was loving. It brought peace.”

He didn’t respond right away. He wasn’t sure what it meant to be a priest. But the call kept returning.

Wrestling with the Decision

Vivek wanted clarity. So he began praying daily, asking God to speak clearly. He didn’t want to follow someone else’s plan, he wanted to be sure.

“My biggest fear was, ‘What if this is just me and not God?’” he admits.

Eventually, he felt peace. The idea of priesthood no longer filled him with anxiety. Instead, it gave him purpose.

Choosing Faith Over Fear

In 2022, Vivek entered the seminary. He admits the journey hasn’t been easy. There have been challenges. But there has also been growth.

“I’ve learned that when God calls, He doesn’t abandon you,” he shares. “He walks with you.”

He also found unexpected joy. The seminary wasn’t a place of restriction. It was where he felt most alive.

A Life of Surrender

For Vivek, saying yes to priesthood isn’t about giving up everything. It’s about gaining something greater.

“God doesn’t want to take things away from you. He wants to give you the best,” he says. “And the best is Him.”

He encourages others to ask God the tough questions. To trust that if He calls, He will provide.

The Joy of a Deeper Yes

Now, Vivek lives with hope. He doesn’t have all the answers, but he knows who walks with him. “My ‘yes’ to God was the best decision I’ve made,” he says. “It brought freedom, peace, and joy.”
