Last weekend our breakfast host, Leah, was given the opportunity to MC the Australian Christians Women’s High Tea. The event happened on Saturday afternoon at the Pagoda Ballroom in South Perth, and was attended by about 180 women from around Perth and across WA.

The theme of the event was ‘Nurture’, with attendees encouraged around the importance of nurturing our family, community and our relationship with Jesus.

Australian Christians State Director and 2025 Lead Candidate, Maryka Groenewald, shared on the beautiful declarations in Genesis, and that God created us in His image. She explained the way this overlaps with politics, especially when we speak about life, family and freedom.

Attendees also enjoyed listening to the thoughts and insights of an inspirational women’s panel, with women from across WA sharing on how they nurture and serve. The panel discussion was facilitated by Jayne Crichton, and included Amanda Lyndon-James (co-founder of Shalom House), Gloria Watkins (Social Worker for the Aboriginal Corporation, and legislative council candidate in the upper house for the Australian Christians Party in the 2025 elections), and Lyn Varty (sought-after Christian Counsellor, who owns and manages Connections Healthcare Centre and Counselling).

Leah was excited to be invited to MC the event, as she believes Christians are called to help shape culture, and is passionate about seeing the Kingdom of God advance in every sphere of influence.

The event was a beautiful afternoon, filled with incredible women, sharing stories, encouraging one another, and creating meaningful connections, with attendees leaving truly inspired to make a difference in their community.
