In a world that often feels vast, complex, and disconnected, it’s no wonder that loneliness and overwhelm have become all too common. From the constant bombardment of news to the pressures of modern life, it’s easy to find ourselves lost in a sea of negativity. But what can we do about it?

Amidst this whirlwind, it’s crucial to remember that we have the power to make a difference. By sharing more positivity and compassion, by just being a friendly voice we can create a ripple effect that transcends the barriers of loneliness and reminds us of the profound connections we share.

Paul tried to take his own life but God was looking out for him…

“I was in a really dark spot and I actually tried to commit suicide by driving my car into Lake Joondalup.  I realised when listening to you guys and that God was looking out to me because I missed all the big trees. I missed a lamppost. I only ended up in waist deep water.”

Steven was also planning on ending his life but asked God for a sign…

“I got out my phone and opened up my Bible app and I looked at the verse of the day, and it was Isaiah 43 1-3. It was basically saying that he knows me and knows what I’m going through. He hasn’t forsaken me. I had 98five on my radio in the car and the first song that popped on was, I Need A Miracle by Third Day. One of the verses in that it says he went down into the forest for the very last time, he didn’t know what he was searching for but on that night he found a miracle. If God is not speaking to me right now, I must be deaf.”

Jessica was in a dark place, but Sonshine brought a smile to her face.

“I’ve always been raised as a Christian as a Catholic, like I have always had God in my life. But a few months ago I went through a really dark time. I just felt like I didn’t want to be here anymore. Listening to Christian music and passages from the Bible really helped me. And listening to 98five has really put a smile on my face like in the morning when I’m going to work. Or I get a good laugh listening to you guys in the afternoon.”

In dark times Lorraine knows where she could find some positivity

“Now as the world’s got darker and more unstable, I need that positivity. I need to hear that word from God more and more. Because the world is so dark at the moment that we need the light and Sonshine FM to be shining brighter than ever.”

When Sarah left her husband and was staying at a refuge Sonshine was her only comfort.

“When I had nobody else to be there for me, you guys were on the radio. You guys always had the perfect music at the right time to encourage me, to give me faith, to give me boldness when I needed that.”
