A reprieve in the weather overnight allowed Fire Fighters to gain a bit of ground on an out of control blaze threatening lives and homes in the City of Wanneroo and the City of Swan.

Despite the amazing efforts of fire-fighters, unfortunately at least 10 properties have been destroyed. The bushfire, which started in the Gnangara Pine Plantation on Wednesday, quickly spread towards the residential areas of Banksia Grove Jandabup and Melaleuca, due to extreme temperatures and wind gusts, forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents.

Mike from Table Talk got an update on what’s happening on the ground in Wanneroo from Nine News Reporter Emma Griffiths as well as a weather update from Jess at the Bureau of Meteorology. He also got an update from Woodvale Baptist Pastor Rob Furlong on the response from local churches.
