Statistics compiled by Our World In Data ranked 184 countries based on how much vegetables they consume each day.

China was the biggest consumer of vegetables with the average citizen eating about a kilogram of vegetables a day. Equivalent to four heads of broccoli.

In 44th place was the US, consuming about 311grames of vegetables per day or just over a head of broccoli. The UK ranked 71st consuming 226 grams per day. Australia ranked 85th consuming 88kgs a year or 33grames a day. Chad was at the bottom of the list, with the average person consuming 6kgs of vegetables per year.

Out of the 181 countries with data, 70 percent consumed less than one head of broccoli. According to The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, adults should eat about two to three cups of vegetables and two cups of fruit per day. Eating enough fruits and vegetables is linked to multiple health benefits including better digestion and a reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.
