Kirste’s story: The Barbie Movie has topped $1 billion in the box office after just three weeks

Warner Bros. confirmed that Barbie has officially passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office. Barbie is now the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman of all time. Patty Jenkins previously held the record with Wonder Woman, which made $822 million globally back in 2017. It’s also set to pass The Super Mario Bros. Movie as the highest-grossing movie of 2023.

Dan’s story: The Enhanced Games allows athletes to use performing enhancing drugs

What would sport be like if performance-enhancing drugs were allowed? How fast could the fastest athletes run? How high could they jump? The Enhanced Games seeks to answer these questions by removing all restrictions.

When the first Enhanced Games takes place in December 2024, athletes in its five categories of competition: track and field, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics, and combat sports will be allowed to ingest whatever substance they wish to improve their performance.
