There can be a lot of stress involved when you are cooking for a large group of people. So Blake Proud shared his top tips for a stress free dinner party.

1. Pick your battles

Don’t pick dishes that you don’t know how to cook or recipes you think are going to appease or impress the people. Stick to the things that you know.

2. Choose a theme

For example, you can do Italian, Mexican or Middle Eastern. You can even choose a few ingredients to hero in each dish. That way, you can use a lot of the same ingredients meaning less prep.

3. Always cook for two extra people

If you have six people coming over, cook for eight. Because there is always someone who brings a random mate. Or someone that eats like a horse. Plus, it’s always great to have leftovers.

4. Plan and prep in advance

With some recipes, you can prep things two days in advance. So don’t leave it all to the last minute.

5. Get the room involved.

Delegate some tasks. and ask people to give you a hand in the kitchen. Assign tasks to different people so they feel like they are contributing.
