As we head towards Christmas, I’ve been reflecting on all that’s happened in 2023, and what a year it has been.
2023 can be described paradoxically as one of the toughest but most exciting years Sonshine has had for a long time. There’s been an exciting rebrand and return to Sonshine as our name, but at the same time we’ve seen staff having health battles, staffing changes, a shortfall in our June Appeal, but an abundance in our Radiothon. In the midst of it all – both good and bad – God has proven that He is always good!
Just this week we received the latest listener survey results which show we’re now being listened to by 300,000 people each month, that’s a 16% increase and means more than 40,000 more people are hearing the message of hope we share! Thank you for the part you’ve played in helping us reach more people!
We realise that this year has been a very challenging one for you, our Sonshine family, with rising inflation, interest rates, a rental crisis and ever-increasing cost of living, we know many are doing it tough. As you reflect on the year that is past, we pray that you will be able to see the goodness of God in the middle of all that doesn’t seem so good at the time.
This Christmas we pray you will know His peace, His love and His joy. We pray that your needs will be met, and that you will be blessed to be a blessing to others. We pray that as you head into 2024 you will clearly see God’s hand evident in your everyday. Leading and guiding, compassionate and inspiring.
From myself and all the Sonshine team we wish you and your family a safe, blessed and very happy Christmas.
